The End

OK, people - this might come as a surprise to some, but i've decided to finish my journey after Japan !
Reason is that my (so far unclassified) stomach infection, which i picked up months ago in Laos hasn't got any better ... after 5 months of chronic pain and malabsorption i feel really run-down and can't appreciate travelling any more.
Japan is an amazing & interesting country, but for quite a while it's been a real struggle to keep going on and there's no point in continuing like this ...

Just for the record, after Asahikawa i climbed up the Asahi-Dake Mountain (2290 m), with lots of Geysirs and hot-springs amidst a beautiful snowy landscape ... the friendly people at the hostel give you bell to scare of the bears on the way, when you go hiking !
After a stopover in the harbour-town Hachinohe, which has San Francisco style streets, i went straight to Osaka, the 2nd biggest city after Tokyo and home of the Noise-Underground scene ("Boredoms", "Shonen Knife" & "Merzbow" all come from Osaka). Probably my favourite city so far, not as hip and stylish as Tokio, more real and really open-minded, friendly people here ... problem is just, due to my illness i can't enjoy it that much ;(
Anyway in 6 days it's all over, i might do a quick stop in Kyoto cause it's on the way back to Tokyo. From there a flight straight to BKK ... and then HOME !

Thank you very much for your attention & see ya on the planet, when i'm fit and back again (for sure) !!!

Yo, will arrive in Frankfurt on 13th Nov, Sunday evening, if everything goes according to plan, which it never does !
